I'd reported earlier on the NAACP's troubling positioning on gay marriage. In an interview, the head of the NAACP, Benjamin Todd Jealous, did a just awful job on camera trying to explain why his organization won't take a stand on marriage quality for gays. Jealous suggests in his interview that gay civil rights perhaps aren't on the same level as African-American civil rights, a position usually pushed by Republicans and religious right bigots. As an African-American lesbian blogger, Pam's take is therefore especially interesting.
