The Washington Post's Monica Hesse recently wrote a puff piece on the head of the Nation Organization for Marriage, the far-right religious right hate group that's traveling around the country trying to take away the civil rights of gay and lesbian Americans (they're the ones who did the "gathering storm" ad talking about gay people coming to get you). It seems the Washington Post didn't just fail to include any criticism of NOM, they actually praised the group and it's leader as sane and reasonable. Media Matters went back and looked at what NOM has actually said in the past. How sane is a NOM board member (Mormon, of course) recently calling for the violent overthrow of the United States? Somehow, the Washington Post missed that little ditty - among others. Media Matters details them all.
