Chris Christie, NJ GOP candidate for Gov., vehemently opposes same-sex marriage

This is important news for the gubernatorial election in New Jersey and for equality.

New Jersey's legislature is poised to pass same-sex marriage legislation. We have the votes. Governor Jon Corzine will sign the marriage equality law. He's campaigning on his support for marriage equality. In a debate last night, Corzine's Republican opponent, Chris Christie, could not have been more clear: He would use his power to deny equality. In New Jersey, this debate isn't about political posturing or just an intellectual exercise. I's about real legislation that is on the verge of becoming law.

New polling from DailyKos shows that Corzine is closing the gap in his state, confirming what other polls have found. Also, an AP analysis of last night's debate found Christie "failed to deliver." As the video shows, in just 14 seconds, Christie did, however, succeed in delivering a very strong anti-equality message.
