Gay OPM director says he doesn't have the authority to follow a court order demanding he give a lesbian health benefits

How does anyone not have the authority to follow a court order? This is sounding an awful lot like the Bush administration, refusing to follow court orders because - yikes! - they're demanding that you give a lesbian health benefits. I thought we voted for the good guys. I thought a Democratic administration, run by a man who is a member of a minority, would actually go out of their way to try to help our community, to try to help the cause of civil rights. What we keep getting are bizarrely legalistic excuses about why the Obama administration can't work with us to actually do what they promised - to be our "fierce advocate."
