More evidence proves Right-wingers are wrong on DADT

More evidence filters in that no discharges have occurred since the Defense Department adopted new rules regarding “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.” This also begs the question that if these rules have helped prevent the discharge of gays honorably serving their country and the sky has not fallen like conservative “Chicken Littles” claimed it would then why hasn’t our Fierce Advocate simply further changed the rules to STOP all discharges until this policy is overturned to provide us an even better argument to overturn the policy? The stubborn obstinate way this administration seems to follow process, negotiated with the dangerous and hateful likes of the Family Research Council, that sabotages them at every turn reminds me of Charlie Brown forever counting on Lucy to hold the football for him instead of sardonically snatching it away at the last moment (even when he has a signed document!).

No U.S. service members have been discharged for being openly gay in the month since the Defense Department adopted new rules surrounding the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, a Pentagon spokeswoman said Monday.

Under new rules adopted Oct. 21, Defense Secretary Robert Gates put authority for signing off on dismissals in the hands of the three service secretaries

Pentagon spokeswoman Cynthia Smith told The Associated Press that no discharges have been approved since Oct. 21.

No gays have been discharged since October 21st and all is well. Of course, now that news has leaked of this confirmation proving one of our points, don’t think for a moment “the Lucy’s” who oppose equality in the military won’t be trying to snatch that football away again no matter how many signed documents stating otherwise.
