Trans woman asks anti-gay bigot if he’d like to stone her (video)

Pamela Raintree, a trans woman in Shreveport, Louisiana, got an anti-gay bigot politician to backdown by quoting Leviticus and offering him a rock, should he like to stone her as the Bible recommends.

Damn. Now that’s what I call a rock star.

The video is only 60 seconds long, and self-explanatory.

I can’t think of a better way to usher in the Martin Luther King holiday.

What is moving is, what the stone looks like.

The reactions of everyone around Pamela Raintree as
she is speaking was priceless. By the look on Councilman Ron Webb’s face, it appears
Pamela Raintree must have slammed that rock on his testicles.

For not providing at least a summation of the link, but at least it was just to IMDB(dot)com.

    Good to know.

Terrific! I made the same offer to a homophobe I debated on a radio
show back in the late 80s. We were there to discuss Pittsburgh’s
proposed gay rights ordinance. He trotted out all the usual crap they
spout and ended his litany with “The Bible says gay people should be put
to death.” I immediately told him, “Then kill me. It’s what God
wants you to do, right? You just said so.” He yammered and stammered
and gibbered but couldn’t think of a response. So I told him, “You
don’t believe that hogwash is the will of God any more than I do.”
Finally the show’s (right wing) host saved him by going to a commercial.

It’s kind of incredible how quickly “the inerrant word of God” becomes “errant” when they’re called upon to do something about it. A lot more of this need to use this strategy when we’re debating them.

My apologies, but yes that’s pretty much what it’s about. There’s also a behind the scenes featurette with the director and cast about how they feel about making the movie and it’s a shame that part isn’t on Netflix. The director says she based the movie partially on real-life events and modeled the main character after Matthew Shepard. The movie’s low-budget, but it was quite enjoyable.

    My apologies.

Gay teenager karate student and sensei face rural bigots. Good theme. I’ll watch it on NetFlix. But please, include a thematic statement so we less trustful souls know the link not a virus trap.

  12. The Bible says nothing about transgenders. However, I never thought of replacing a fallible pope with a fallible book. Some church history is enough to convince fallibility. For those who want to make Catholicism a cult, try Vatican Catholic.

i knew the bible was a book of nonsense & lies if it wasn’t it would say the bigots should be stoned.

OT, but my sensei gave me this movie to watch and I really liked it. I thought I’d share it with all of you :)

Wow. That’s a good way to confront that kind of bigotry!
