Scott Lively, who inspired Uganda’s “kill the gays” law, says conservative violence is part of a liberal conspiracy

Pastor Scott Lively is worried about recent outbursts of conservative violence — against black people, against women, against the LGBT community — but not for the reason you might think. While Lively readily admits that these incidents are real — an improvement over the poop swastika truthers over at The Federalist — he feels they are a conspiracy nonetheless. You see, conservative violence is really all part of a liberal plot to justify the imposition of a police state — one that will exterminate conservatives once and for all. As he wrote on his blog:

There is no question in my mind that the globalists are making their move while their man is still in the White House, and we’re certain to see an increase, not a decrease, in the extent to which the Marxists overplay their hand. They really have no choice since they know that if they do not defeat the republic and establish their empire now, they will likely never again enjoy the current “perfect storm” of culture-wide institutional control, political will and muscle in the executive and judicial branches (and acquiescence in the legislative), and near-dictatorial (but crumbling) global power.

So, rather than play their former game of two steps forward, one step back (the Marxist dialectic) they are now ALL-IN. And knowing that this blatant play for power will inevitably further strengthen and energize their opposition, they have planned and are now implementing a judo move against us.

The strategy is to rapidly polarize the society to the point of violence by conservatives, which will serve as a pretext for “defensive” police-state measures to suppress what they have already begun to spin as the rise of neo-Nazism. That’s the motivation behind the Black Lives Matter campaign and the outrageous, anger-inducing policies involving illegal aliens and multi-trillion dollar debt financing of ever more bloated entitlement programs and government expansion. The elites are deliberately provoking civil unrest to justify the suspension of civil liberties and what is left of the rule of law under the constitution.

Bear in mind, this is the same Scott Lively who gave Uganda the idea for their “kill the gays” law, which passed in 2014 with the death penalty provisions removed. This is a guy who thinks that gays are evil — responsible for the 1994 Rwandan genocide! — and should be put to death if they refuse to be straight.

But if anyone listens to him and, you know, acts on his insinuations, it’s all part of the big liberal conspiracy to divide our country and create civil unrest.

He is very clear that you and I should not be allowed to exist. And he calls *us* the Nazis…

    This much is true:

“The elites are deliberately provoking civil unrest to justify the suspension of civil liberties and what is left of the rule of law under the constitution.”

But he’s got the wrong boogie-man. It isn’t the ‘Marxists’ that are doing this, it isn’t ‘the liberals’ who are almost powerless in America. The USA has been dominated by Neo-Conservatives for 35 years, they are the ones whose platform and programs intentionally crush the middle class into poverty, thus provoking civil unrest.

Who came up with ‘Tough On Crime?” Who turned to local Officer Friendly into a steroid-juiced rage-feuled killing machine? It wasn’t the non-exitant “Liberals”…

Christianity Today magazine estimated in 2001 that there were 33,400 Christian denominations worldwide. Each of which believes itself to be the ‘one true faith’.

Create a theocracy and they will be at war with each other in days. I’d almost like to see that.

  4. The_Fixer says:

Yeah, and some of these people would be just fine with a theocratic government – until, of course, that theocratic government decided that certain flavors of religion were “not of God” and decided it was time for them to go.

They should be careful what they wish for, they could be the next victim.

Well, clearly gawd’s just not into them. That’s why demons find them so delicious.

  6. 2karmanot says:

Exactly so, and people who ignore this growing tsunami of cracked-pots may wake up some day to find a theocratic nut case sitting in the Oval Office.

This man needs mental health treatment, stat!

Of course, he would be right at home in an institution, he’d be with others who share his deep paranoia, and would no doubt claim that the doctors are really trying to control his mind and turn him into a “Marxist” (which seems to be his new pet phrase).

We have a serious problem in this country, and Scott Lively is a first-rate representation of that problem. The nutcases make up about a quarter of this country (horrifying in and of itself), and they are given some sort of legitimacy in the media. Rarely is it mentioned by the media just what Lively, Perkins and the other assorted crazies are doing. They fail to mention Lively’s involvement in the exportation of homophobia, that Perkins heads up a designated hate organization, and some of the Presidential candidates are all too happy to embrace homophobia.

What these people are is demonstrably mentally ill. That convoluted bit of analysis by Lively certainly smacks of the ramblings of a paranoid schizophrenic. I try to have empathy for people who have mental health problems, it’s a tough thing to deal with. I have none for him and others like him, except to endorse institutionalizing them for treatment. They are a disruptive, dangerous influence on society as they encourage other unstable people to act out in a violent manner.

Lively’s a sick, sick man and it is well past time for the media to tell the world just how sick he is. Any fair report that points out their sickness is not pandering to the left, it is the press acting in a responsible manner.

And the persecution propaganda feeds their own prophecy: they are creating their own apocalypse. It’s just a matter of time before their self-created explosion ends up imploding. Beware the rest of us.

  11. MattM says:

He’s totally right. Liberals and gays (gasp, even gay liberals) exist and it makes fundies like Lively angry. It’s all our fault, obviously.

  12. Dan Thompson says:

That guy has him some serious crazy going on!

  13. Bullshit you piece of shit for a human being. I myself have been SHOT at!!!! Go fuck yourself.

  14. JaneE says:

OK, you believe that you are being deliberately provoked to violence so there will be an excuse to impose a police state and take your guns and freedom.

The easiest way to defeat that conspiracy is to ignore the provocation, and do not engage in violence. If they want you to start shooting so they can pass laws to disarm you, don’t shoot in the first place. If they want you to beat them up so you can be arrested for assault (or worse, depending on how bad you beat them) then don’t hit them in the first place. Take control of yourself, and don’t engage in shooting, beating, bombing, cross-burning or anything else that will justify locking you up for the good of society. Problem solved.

  15. tommo says:

Black Lives Matter is part of the insidious rise of neo-Nazism? I understand he makes his living off of hatred but this poor old guy can’t even come up with a non-LOL conspiracy. All Republicans are pathetic, selfish, greedy, small-minded, short-sighted bigots.

  16. Glen Thompson says:

Come on, just look at him. He’s just mad that none of the gays want to play with him.

  17. rwlorenz says:

So, conservative hatred comes about by a liberal conspiracy. Then, where does conservative stupidity come from?

  18. rwlorenz says:

How can you tell when a conservative is saying something idiotic? His or her lips are moving.

  19. nicho says:

Start from the premise that when a conservative is flapping his gums, he’s either lying or just making shit up. You won’t be disappointed.

  20. Sally says:

Golly, Batman. These people are certifiable. I blame Reagan, who closed the mental units. I haven’t heard a sane Republican in years…they are all victims.

He ran for governor of Massachusetts in 2014:

Scott Lively/Shelly Saunders [independent ticket] 0.9% [vote percentage]19,378 [votes] –ballotpedia.

According to a friend in Holland, the anti-gays are just about 1% or 2% of the population and are not taken seriously anymore. I guess Massachusetts is even more savvy. That he ran at all in Massachusetts is testimony to his own self-delusion.
