Gays are like ISIS beheading America, per religious right confab

The Family Research Council once again earned its officially-designated status as a “hate group” during last week’s Value Voters Summit in Washington, DC.

While the religious right conference is a traditional hate-fest for many of America’s most intolerant religious extremists, this year’s talk by the effete Benham Brothers was out there, even by FRC standards.

The Benhams are a religious right duo that recently lost their house-flipping TV show on HGTV, after the network found out just how extreme these boys really are.

Now, it’s not like HGTV wasn’t forewarned.

You go, gurl.

The Benhams are the sons of notorious anti-abortion protester Flip Benham. Daddy doesn’t begin to describe “nutty.”

And Flip’s hunky-yet-rather-effete sons aren’t far behind, in terms of not just their anti-abortion zeal, but their animus towards Muslims and gays as well. (Gays apparently have something to do with Satan, and feet.)

Oh, but it gets better. One of the Benham boys recently quoted, favorably, the biblical passage about gays needing to be stoned to death.

Yes, go hard.

This was around the time they compared gay marriage to Nazi Germany (and then got the decade of World War II wrong, but hey, numbers are hard when you’re pretty.)

God only knows how they lost their TV show.

Well, just when you thought the Benham boys couldn’t top (or bottom) their last outrage, they compare gays to ISIS, saying we’re beheading America with silence, or something.

Here’s David Benham:

“There is a radical agenda that has come in our nation, the weapon of choice for the agenda in the Middle East is a sword, but the weapon of choice for the agenda in America is silence. They demand silence…. We are watching it over in the Middle East right now. ISIS is filled with rage. They are empowered by a demonic bloodthirsty spirit that needs to be confronted and dealt with, not tip-toed around the tulips…. And it’s time that God’s spiritual leaders see that the plot of Haman to silence the beliefs of Christians in this nation, thank God it’s not through a sword, it’s just in the form of silence.”

Apparently, the irony of religious-extremists-who-hate-gays comparing gays to religious-extremists-who-hate-gays was lost on the peroxide twins.

And tiptoe through the tulips?

Why do all these anti-gays always set off my gaydar?

And it’s the members of the FRC that openly call for the overthrow of the American government and the installation of a Bilbical Theocracy. They look at ISIS and just wish they could do that here.

    I like that.

For being beheaded they sure talk a lot. Only a matter of time before one or both of these closet cases assume a wide stance.

For being silenced, they sure do talk a lot.

  7. Badgerite says:

Did he just compare losing a TV show to being put to death by crucifixion? Hmmmmmm.

  8. I simply found it interesting that you zoned in on him, is all ;-)

  9. BeccaM says:

Maybe they were like those twins who invent their own language, only the Benhams never outgrew it.

In any case I agree: Those two have externalized and projected their loathing for gay people to an extent they openly call for gays to be put to death. Because they ‘love’ us. Which apparently is another word whose definition they made up to suit their own selfish hate.

  10. The_Fixer says:

How can anyone take these two idiots seriously? They can’t even put a decent sentence together between the two of them. Two minds working on the problem, and they can’t even make a comprehensible sentence.

No, I don’t want to include them in our club. I don’t care how fabulous they appear on the outside, the ugliness is too deep.

  11. Indigo says:

What? I just want to exploit him is all. It’s nothing serious . . . ;-)

  12. Not gonna comment ;-)

Haman? Really? King of the Amalekites, an entire people who were exterminated by Saul and David? (Actually, apparently Saul was deposed by God for refusing to commit total genocide against the Amalekites and several other peoples. 1 Sam 28. David finished the job.)

But jeez, the hyperbole. ‘Silence’ deemed equivalent to genocide of conservative Christians? And I find it hilarious they’re invoking a Jewish stereotyped villain to make their case for what? Nuking the Middle East until it’s glass?

As ever, and just as with John ‘Crybaby’ Boehner this weekend with his insistence there MUST be “boots on the ground” to go to war with ISIL/ISIS/IS/whatevah, I say this to the Benham brothers: You go first.

Send them articles about the gang and the Catholic Phys Ed teacher who beat up two gays guys in Pennsylvania; or the gang that beat up a couple in a town in England; or the one on the lesbian who was beat up in the South somewhere. Figurative “beheading” is for cartoons and sissies, which these two are; They remind me of the Aesop’s fable of the lamb and the wolf (note the moral of the fable):

Once upon a time a Wolf was lapping at a spring on a hillside, when, looking up, what should he see but a Lamb just beginning to drink a little lower down. “There’s my supper,” thought he, “if only I can find some excuse to seize it.” Then he called out to the Lamb, “How dare you muddle the water from which I am drinking?”

“Nay, master, nay,” said Lambikin; “if the water be muddy up there, I cannot be the cause of it, for it runs down from you to me.”

“Well, then,” said the Wolf, “why did you call me bad names this time last year?”

“That cannot be,” said the Lamb; “I am only six months old.”

“I don’t care,” snarled the Wolf; “if it was not you it was your father;” and with that he rushed upon the poor little Lamb and ate her all up. But before she died she gasped out:

Moral of Aesops Fable: “Any excuse will serve a tyrant.”

Which are they more ashamed of? Their homosexuality or their incestuous relationship?

  20. We should send them two “I’m not gay but my brother is!” t-shirts.

  21. The hands!

  22. jomicur says:

It isn’t just you, John. These two set of every gaydar detector in North America, and quite possibly the ones in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, South America and even Antarctica too. There are gay penguins on the Ross Ice Shelf that get a vibe from this couple pair of brothers.

  23. emjayay says:

The twins are simply on a very ignorant total ego trip. Having a teevee show based mostly on their looks probably no doubt added to their egos and certainty about their extremely limited worldview. The right wing continually worships the most small minded pathetic ignorant media celebutants.
